My favourite cruise ship..
Although many cruise ships are designed and perfected to their client’s requirements there is no good or bad cruise ship on my list. They are all fabulous and all do a sterling job. My favourite ship is Cunard's Queen Mary 2. Technically she is not a cruise ship but an Ocean Liner. Her architect, Stephen Payne a veteran of 40 ships, purposely designed her for the North Atlantic. Her design is one to marvel at, as well as her safety features, one being the extra defence at the bow, protecting the ship from any rogue waves. As you enter the ship for the first time you feel that you have stepped back in time to the golden era of sailing. A classic she is, as well as comfortable with many first amenities such as the biggest library on any ship and a purposely built observatory together with an astronomy show for all stargazers on board. Like for like she will meet all kinds of luxury benchmarks, she is modest and affordable to the regular cruiser. And they offer sample cruises which is a great way to experience this Ocean Liner. Classic cruising at classic prices.
Next on my wish list is...
Only on a cruise voyage can I undertake my travel destination wish list. Both transiting the Panama Canal and visiting Cuba (Oh come on! those cigars and Salsa dancing!). Both feature heavily on many bucket lists and with the planning of our dedicated cruise partners, I can do both on one sailing. Both feature different experiences which can’t be matched on any brochure.
