Disney Cruise Line has announced their summer 2021 sailings, featuring itineraries that return to Alaska and Greece, and some that dock at new ports in Norway and Sweden. You’ll have the opportunity to sail from Dover to these exotic destinations and the British Isles.
Here’s what they have announced for next summer. You’re bound to find an itinerary that ticks something off of your bucket list.
Disney Wonder will return to Alaska in the summer of 2021, sailing out from Vancouver in Canada. If you opt for the seven-night itinerary, you’ll visit the capital city Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, along the Inside Passage, with Native American totem poles all around.
Skagway has many gold-rush-era buildings, the well-preserved Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park being a tourist favourite. Dawes Glacier, located 45 miles south of the capital, creates a beautiful backdrop when sailing along this scenic route.
There’s also a nine-night Alaskan adventure, during which you can see the 76-mile-long Hubbard Glacier pass by. You’ll stop off at Icy Strait Point, a popular tourist attraction where guided tours along restored salmon canneries occur. The final port is Sitka, home to the National Historical Park that commemorates the experiences between Tlingit and Russia.
From July through to September, Disney Magic will return to Dover and take guests around the British Isles. The arrival of Disney Magic to the famous white cliffs is already an annual event where she docks for several days during her UK itinerary.
Over this seven-night cruise, she will stop at Plymouth, Liverpool and Dublin. If you’re hoping to visit some more exotic destinations without having to fly, you’re in luck. She’s also sailing from Dover to several European countries mentioned below.
Disney Magic will cruise around Northern Europe, the Norwegian fjords and the Baltic throughout July, August and September. One of the maiden ports of call to keep your eyes peeled for is the historic city of Visby in Sweden, best known for its well-preserved medieval walls and stunning botanical gardens.
The village of Eidfjord in Norway is the second maiden port. Here, you can wander around the charming Eidfjord Church, with the Eidfjordvatnet Lake in the background creating an idyllic setting. Situated below Eidfjord is Hardangervidda, Norway’s largest national park, covering a mountain plateau that is perfect for guests wanting to go on an adventurous hike.
The cruise line decided to return to some much-loved Mediterranean destinations and dock in a few maiden ports during summer 2021 sailings. By popular demand, Disney Magic will return to Greece during her Grand Tour of Europe. Particular itineraries include stops at the historic city of Dubrovnik, allowing guests to walk along the iconic walls.
From May to July, Disney Magic will dock in Spain, the French Riviera and four ports amongst the Cyclades. Guests can look forward to watching the sunset from the white-washed cliff sides in Santorini and mixing with the locals on many beautiful beaches in Mykonos.
The final two ports are Katakolon, a small town near ancient Olympia, and the Ionian island of Kefalonia. Limestone cliffs, picturesque bays and white sand beaches grace the coastline of this maiden port for Disney Cruise Line.
